Dedicated player
Raspberry Pi 5 / Zero 2 W
Connect to a display over HDMI, then manage content from the cloud portal. Local media caching helps previously downloaded images and videos keep playing during an internet interruption.
A suitable power supply, storage, cooling and network are required. Hardware and enclosures are quoted separately. Newer hardware is the preferred pilot target; no 4K or multi-output performance guarantee is made.
TV app pilot
Android / Google TV
A native pilot app can be sideloaded on compatible Android or Google TV devices. It supports pairing, downloaded content and scheduling without a separate Pi where the TV is suitable.
It is not yet listed on Google Play. Device-specific standby behaviour, remote updates and long-duration playback still need acceptance testing. Samsung Tizen, LG webOS and arbitrary smart TVs are not supported by this app.
Experimental legacy option
Original Raspberry Pi Zero W
The original ARMv6 Zero W is much more constrained than a Zero 2 W. Static HTML/CSS websites use an experimental browser path; modern JavaScript dashboards, YouTube, live streams and split-screen layouts are not supported on this profile.
Existing hardware can be assessed, but it is not our default recommendation for a new customer rollout.
Connectivity & maintenance
Plan for the network, too.
Pi software includes a protected setup hotspot and a network-recovery path for personal Wi-Fi. A deliberate recovery cutover remains a physical acceptance test. Enterprise Wi-Fi and automatic guest captive-portal login are not included.
New content, websites, remote commands and timed takeover expiry require cloud connectivity. Cached media does not turn a live website into an offline application.
No surprises in the hardware quote.
Player board, power supply, storage, enclosure, cables, shipping and installation are separate from the software subscription. We confirm the agreed equipment and acceptance checks before supply.
